Purge Events
This command will purge certain events from your database according to criteria you define.
1.
From EventPro's main menu, select Utilities | Purge | Events.
2.
The Event Data Purge dialog box will appear, warning you to back up your data before completing the task. If you have a complete backup of your data, click OK.
Select a Date – all events ending on or before that date will be purged. Click OK.
2.
Enter a name for the Historical Database (e.g. January_1_2004) and click OK. If you will be creating more than one historical database, ensure that you create unique names for each so that you are not saving one over top of another.
3.
The historical database, which stores all of the purged events, will be located in the same directory as the current database.
When you add catering or beverage configurations to an event, the configurations may contain several categories and items that you do not select for the event. Deleting these unused items will free up space in your database.
2.
Select a Date – all unused (unselected) catering and beverage items for events ending on or before that date will be purged. Click OK.
4.
The Confirm dialog box will warn you not to continue if you do not have a backup of your data. If you have a backup of your data and want to continue, click Yes.
5.
The purge may take a while. When it is finished, you will return to the log in screen, where you can log back into EventPro.
