Add a System Variable

Remember that there are two different kinds of system variables: the Report system variables (e.g. date, time) and the EventPro system variables (e.g. User ID, User Name).

1.To add a Report system variable, click the System Variable Icon and click in the report approximately where you want to add the variable.

2.The variable appears in the report.
3.In the upper left corner, choose the variable from the drop-down list: Date, DateTime, DocumentName, PrintDateTime, etc.

4.You can then follow the steps above to align and size the variable field in the same way as you would adjust a label or DB text field.

1.To add an EventPro system variable, begin by adding a PSI DB text field, following the instructions in Add a New Label and Field: Add a DB Text Field.
2.However, rather than selecting the database and value from the drop-down lists, however, right-click the field in the report and select System Variable.

3.From the System Variable drop-down list, choose a variable and click OK.

4.You can then follow the steps in Add a New Label and Field above to align and size the variable field in the same way you would adjust a label or DB text field.
