Copying Actions to Event

Earlier, while you were setting up EventPro, you may have created Event Categories in the General Lookup Tables.  When you created an event category, you could enter the Actions that typically need to be performed for that kind of event.  When you created an event and assigned it to that event category, those actions would automatically be entered in the event.

However, even if an event does not belong to a category that has the actions you want, you have the option of copying a set of Actions assigned to a certain event category.

1.Find the event in Event Maintenance screen, and click on the Actions tab.  Go to the List View tab.

2.Click the Copy button to the right of the selection grid in the bottom section of the screen.

3.The Event Categories window appears, displaying the Event Categories you created in the General Lookup Tables.  If you have not created any event categories, the window will be blank.

4.Click on the Event Category from which you want to copy actions and click OK.

5.In the Copy Event Category Actions dialog, select a radio button to indicate whether you want to Append to Existing Only, Append To and Update Existing or Overwrite Existing Completely.  Click OK.  In the Confirm dialog box, click Yes to continue with the copy.

6.The Actions will be added to the selection grid.  Remember that the Event Category must have assigned Actions in order for you to be able to copy them to the event.  If the event category does not contain any actions, no new actions will be added to this event.  Check your General Lookup Tables to confirm that the Event Category contains actions.
